A beer pioneer, South Africas 1st Black female brewery owner trains a new generation

Apiwe Nxusani-Mawela, South Africa's first Black woman craft brewery owner, is training young Black graduates, mostly women, in beer making. At her Brewsters Academy, students learn brewing techniques to diversify the male-dominated industry. Nxusani-Mawela also champions traditional African beer, aiming to integrate the past into future styles, using unique local ingredients.
