Immigration NZ confirms Samoa-based staff aided internal fraud
Immigration NZ revealed Samoan immigration workers aided visa fraud between 2014-2021. A Samoan national received six months home detention for assisting others to work illegally in New Zealand. Workers were lured with promises of high wages, then exploited. INZ identified and resolved the internal fraud, enhancing security procedures. No seasonal employers were involved.
