Love for wild places: NZ woman one of two killed by elephant in Zambia

While on safari at South Luangwa National Park, Alison Jean Taylor (67, New Zealand) and Easton Janet Taylor (68, UK) were killed by an elephant protecting her calf. Despite attempts by guides to deter the charging animal, the women were attacked. Alison's leg problem hindered her escape. They had been at Big Lagoon Bush Camp for four days before the tragic incident.
