Physical, verbal abuse at hospitals becoming routine

Following assaults on Palmerston North hospital staff, unions fear a worker fatality. Incidents include a gunpoint hold-up and a staff member knocked unconscious. Staff are demanding increased security powers and faster police response times. Health NZ says that they are continuously improving security within legal constraints.
