Wokeness and symbolic capitalism
"Woke" is a contentious term in culture wars, particularly in New Zealand politics. Professor Musa al-Gharbi, an American sociologist, visits New Zealand to discuss his book, *We Have Never Been Woke*. He argues against the concept of "wokeism" and explores its cultural contradictions. Al-Gharbi will appear in Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
