Worldline NZ data indicates the first consumer spending growth since early 2024, with June 2025 core retail spending up 0.8% year-on-year, reaching $3.60B. This continues a trend of modest growth from April and May. Hospitality spending, however, declined by 2.4% nationally, with regional variations. Waikato saw growth while Wellington and Auckland/Northland declined.
